Monta EV charging

Hi.
I charged using Monta for the 1st time yesterday
I will openly admit I am not experienced in public charging having done single digit public charges in 3 years.
However ..... I got charged £50 for a fairly small charge. I assumed they take the £50 then refund what isn't used a bit like petrol station charges.
however that was almost 48 hrs ago and I am still seeing a £50 charge on my card.

is this usual and if so how long is it for them to put the correct amount through?

Believe it can take up to a week with some providers.

Dealing with fragmented, poorly designed, overpriced public charging infrastructure is by far the worst part of driving an EV, and I say that at someone who loves their EV.

We have Monta at work, it has in the past taken anywhere between and hour and a week to update the amount.

If you have a credit card then link that to your account, that way no money from your current account is held.
then pay it off when it shows the actual amount. I do this and when road tripping using multiple charges, that way no money gets held from your current account.

Plus any dubious/ scam charges from rogue qr codes are the banks problem first and foremost.

Temp holds can in some circumstances take up to something daft like 14 days to be released I think, always link a CC to those sort of things then it doesn't matter.
