The wife and I are off to Kotor in Montenegro on Sunday and don't know anybody who has been there before.

We've had a look online at peoples comments which all look good but I wondered if anyone from here had been and could offer and advice on places to visit/eat etc?

Cheers

We’ve been to the town a few times in passing. It’s small and apart from the cathedral:

and a few churches it hasn’t got much to offer. It has got some city walls but you have to climb an awful lot of steps to get up there. It’s in a lovely location with the fiord. What is worth doing is the 25 hairpin bend road on the way up to Lovcen from Kotor at the top of which you get a spectacular view Kotor, the fiord and the Bay of Kotor:

The other end of the fiord:

I presume that you will end up pottering around the area, are you staying there for long?

Yeah it's just going to be a base really, we'll be there for a week. We'll be hiring a car and getting out and about.

I've ready that the nightlife in Kotor is surprisingly good though...?

Landing in Tivat which is good. Better than going to Dubrovnik and crossing the border.

Cheers for the above, definitely will be checking Budva and will have a look at the others too.
