Yeah im aware of this and so are they, all i can do is continue to warn them of this and hope they change their mind.Phil99 said:Just point out that it's an 18 month contract so they're stuck with it until November 2007 if they sign up now and that the broadband market is a rapidly changing one.
are Eclipse using traffic shaping now?Spudgun said:Yeah, i agree, the traffic shaping does not appear to be doing its job. It should be crippling newsgroup/FTP/P2P traffic but instead the http traffic is reduced to dialup speeds.
Not traffic shaping per se, but traffic prioritising, yes. Depending on the package you are on, will determine the priority you get - naturally the more expensive packages get highest priority. E.g. Evo option4 (£29.99) has highest priority followed by Evo 3 (£24.99) etc.ANDARIAL said:are Eclipse using traffic shaping now?![]()

Eclipse Tech Support said:We have been working hard to analyse the issue that you raised over the last few days to determine the exact cause of the problem.
We believe that we have now identified a potential cause and will be taking action today to resolve this issue.
We have also been aware of BRAS profile issue which would have affected the speed of your broadband connection. Will still need to wait up to a 3 day period for your connection profile to read the correct setting before you will see an improvement of throughput speed for your connection.
We would ask you to keep monitoring the speed of your connection over the next 3 days. If you do not see any improvement in your connection then please do contact us as we will happily investigate this further for you.
We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and we would like to thank you for your patience.
