Moonfall

Geostorm was great. This Moonfall looks awesome. Destruction, cheesy one liners, good actors (not great, but good), stupid idea, Roland Emmerich, end of the world, spaceships, Roland Emmerich, aliens, alien tech, explosions, Roland Emmerich, probably an awesome soundtrack to boot. Whats not to like about this film?

My thoughts exactly.

I watched this last night. Words escape me.
The effects were good, at times poor, but the story is just ludicrous and John Bradley is an awful actor.
Couldn't say it made my list of worst films ever because it became so stupid it was funny, but it contained about every single possible cliche and troupe in movie history.

Get a 2/10 but at the same time I would suggest everyone watches this for the LOLs, reminded me of the Rick and Morty joke about Two Brothers.

Easy 8 /10 enjoyed every minute.

But that's my point, this film only holds up if your incapable of actual thought. Staring blankly at a wall is entertaining if you don't think.
Any film where I have to overlook the issues in the story by reducing my cognitive capacity to be able enjoy it, is a poor film.

I always took "brain off" to mean it doesn't require you to pay attention to the story or think about it making any sense or being logical etc, just enjoying what's onscreen without applying any mental power like you would to maybe a Who-Done-It thriller etc.

As such I find most big summer CGI-fest blockbusters fall into that category, where the visual spectacle is more attention/concentration seeking than whatever the storyline might be.

I always took brain off to mean you won't something on in the background whilst your busy cleaning, repairing a bike, doing DIY or whatever...

just anything to not be in silence :P
