GMP have called off the search for the body of Keith Bennet after recent searches to try to locate his remains.

His mother, Winnie Johnson, has begged Ian Brady to reveal where he is so he can be laid to rest in a dignified manner and some closure can be brought to what is such a tragedy for her.

I have the horrible feeling that Brady will take that secret to his grave as a final two fingers to the police and authorities and I find this very hard to stomach and feel very much for Mrs Johnson.

My private side wants to see him injected / hypnotised to reveal where he is, despite the legal implications. Such a depraved maniac as Brady should not hold the balance in what is clearly a sick game to him.

It isn't the police I feel for although I understand their frustration in not retrieving Keith Bennet's body. He is the only victim that hasn't been found.

It is Mrs Johnson not being able to bury her son and at least partially heal her hurt.
 
Saw this on the news today. Really painful stuff, and difficult to watch; my wife was almost crying. :(
 
It's a real shame that Winnie Johnson can't move on from this as I doubt very much Ian Brady could find that body if his life depended on it. Saddleworth moor all looks the same and it's been a fair few years since Ian Brady saw it.
 
Its bad enough your child being abducted and murdered but not being able to bury them and have a place of solitude for the mother, amazing she has kept going, I just hope on his death bed he reveals the place the boy is buried.

Not likely though? as said above the moors and surrounding areas have probably changed so much over the years any things he may have used to mark where the graves were could very likely disapeered?

Bloke we used to live near grew up in that area and used to drink in the same pub as Brady, reckoned he always was a total weirdo (yet again so was the bloke we knew)

Nothing a little sleep and sensory deprivation for prelonged periods wouldn't get out of him. He should be handed over to the special forces for a few months - they'd get it out of him eventually.

Either he's keeping this as some bizarre psychological lynch-pin for his mental well-being, or I think he simply might not know. Although in the latter scenario, that still doesn't explain why he doesn't just say he doesn't know.
 
I saw the report and didn't understand why they didn't show the photo properly. They said it hadn't been shown at all until now but only showed it briefly and then zoomed into it to focus on hindly. If they showed it properly there is a chance that someone may have recognised the location.
 
Didn't Brady once say he'd personally show her where the body was burried, but police wouldn't allow it or something? Or did I just pull that from my behind?

Found it, apparently he said so in a letter her sent her back in 2005

Brady is a psychopath who is desperate to die but the authorities won't let him - they are force-feeding him to keep him alive. If he know where the last body is and if he could find it (I seriously doubt both after all these years) then in all likelihood he is refusing to do so out of spite - to get some form of revenge against the system that won't let him die.

I don't think he could find that poor boys body, but I do think he should be given the opportunity to try one last time. Perhaps if they agreed to stop force feeding him he might finally give up the location of the body, lets face it there's no other way he'll reveal it and if the authorities are too stubborn to make a deal with him then they are just as culpable in my books as the psycho himself for the failure to give Mrs Johnson the closure she so desperately craves.
 
Read about this earlier. Really sad that a mother can't lay her son to rest properly. After 45 years too! :(

Brady accepted long ago he'd die in prison so perhaps not saying where the lad is buried, if he can remember, is just a response to his dying in prison.
 
Always shocked me that it took McVicar & his film to reveal the true horrors of this case. If it wasn't for McVicar kicking off a prison riot & gaining access to Bradys personal file we wouldn't even know about it.
I would Gladly accept the job of obtaining any info from Brady.


My thoughts go out to those Lost & those that have lost.
 
Just read up on what this Monster actually did to get where he is today.

In these sorts of cases human rights should get thrown right out the window.. The bloke needs someone to go to down on him bigtime!

Yes, I suppose focusing on Brady is wrong. Mrs Bennett life has been ruined by the cruel pair. I don't think she will be able to bury her boy though, I don't think he will be able to give any more help to the police even if if he wanted to. He just seems to be playing a ghoulish game with them.
