More AM3+ Motherboards

Give it time as people order for new 990xx motherboards were much high demand as the firm still working to build up new boards included install chipset, then testing then packing before ship out to online store so - best sit and wait until it come up.... plenty of time as I think it come up in few weeks, wont be long as Ive pre order for Asus CFV last week and Im no in hurry as you know clock run so fast than we thought is it?

Yeah so it's just been put up how long I wonder for stock?
3 days
2 weeks
2 months?

These new 990fx boards with full x16 sli rock , Bye bye intel, I'm sick of constant socket changes. How many sockets types they have right now about 5? They are taking the p.i.s.s

I'm switching to AMD

Yes Im the same that I was switched to AMD from Intel in 2001 as Intel keep changed the pin socket that stop people using current CPU that sound like Intel get greedy fat cat money as profit - Im still AMD fan all way plus cheap and good with BD 8 Core... I never use Intel or go back... Im stay with AMD.

Well depending on the performance of BD I will go for the Crosshair V. Worth the extra £10 for the Intel GB lan and the additional USB3 slots at the back.

But that is my opinion :)

This is what i'm currently thinking, getting the Crosshair V to support BD when it is released and installing a Phenom™ II X6 1100T whilst I wait.

Once it is released, I will whack my Phenom™ II X6 1100T up on eBay and get the new BD :D

Facilities department came up with my UD5 a few seconds ago. :D Had a peek at it, gorgeous board. So subtle and sturdy-looking. Will see if I'll have time to fit it tonight. :) I can finally put in my 5850 and 5830 together!

Are the sabertooth and crosshair v boards hiding ?

Both are in stock at other sites.

Sabertooth been up all week in very limited numbers and weee bit cheaper to boot.

So now I have a big question as I'm five minutes away from going home and getting my UD5 installed. Do I really need to re-install Windows 7 when switching boards? Is it just a licensing issue (in which case I'll just give them a ring) or are there technical problems (read: crappy programming) with it? I just don't fancy restoring my entire Steam catalog... again. >_<

You really should. You can just copy the steam folder over and install it again, then you don't need to re-download stuff. Steam even has a backup feature you can use as well.

if your OS is retail then you'll be fine, just reinstall then call them... if it oem then you can't transfer the license..

UD5 installed along with my 5850 and 5830. Re-installed Windows after all, all sorted. Didn't get a chance to do any testing today as one of the shelves in my study came off and nearly fell on my face. UK build quality, that is. xD

can you try to fit a pcie x1 card in the x1 slot?

Already did, doesn't work. :( Tried to stick my X-Fi in there to avoid impairing the airflow to my second GPU, no luck - the heatpipes are in the way.

So I now have a 5850 which has ~3mm free space to suck air from and a 5830 which only has slightly more between it and the X-Fi. :D

Yes you can, just call them the same.

Despite all the propaganda to make people buy the more expensive retail version all Microsoft care about with both versions is that you're only using one PC per license.

windows license is tied to the motherboard,

if your using a oem license and if you've changed the motherboard u won't be able to transfer it..

if you tell them you've changed the motherboard they'il say no can't be transfered because it's a oem license... i tryed before with vista oem..

Well I've done it numerous times and I'm sure I'm not the only one, all they asked me for is confirmation that I wasn't trying to activate more than one PC concurrently.

my experience differs, did you let them get away with that? charging you £90 for software and telling you can't use it anymore? I'd be taking it to trading standards personally

my oem vista only £15, i wasn't bothered really..

but about a year or so ago there was a document on microsoft site about windows licenses and it clearly said oem licenses are tied to one motherboard/device...

also if oem licenses allow transfering, what's the point of having retail license, makes no sense

just because they activated u doesn't your licensed. being activated and being licensed are two different things.
