More BT Infinity issues, no surely not?

In reverse order...
Wifi varies device to device on 2.4ghz my PC can get full speed (70Mb) my mobile phone can not though (only around 30Mb) even next to the router.

5ghz (aka AC) will not function well at distance or with obstacles getting 1 bar on that while 2.4ghz is full or near full is normal.

IF they are the only other wireless networks you can see something is wrong, either where you are using the device walls, interference... Have you recently put the central heating on as an example?, could be the wifi receiver or your homehub. Wifi is IMO basically crap and has nothing but issues. I could not use it daily and regularly.

It could even be a connection/line fault but you wont know that unless you can test things wired.

You could buy one of these...

and move your hub upstairs and see if the issue goes away when wired.

Or better yet leave the hub where it is and buy a long RJ45 cable for a few quid and temporarily lob that from downstairs at the hub to your pc upstairs.

I would not recommend new hardware at this stage until you know what the issue is. Wifi is a strange beast and it does not take much to upset it, even some unshielded or poorly shielded electrical device can cause wifi speeds to ping pong all over the place.

I have had similar issues using a HH5 A.

I have just gone through the process of turning of Fon and btwifiX as I think that may be the issue.

I will turn it back on some time, maybe after getting a 3rd party router.

I never had Fon for the last two years but after changing the service they must have activated it.
