I'll ask again - but how are you so sneaky about it?
I'm thinking shooting from the hip helps, but I am wondering if there is anything else that you may be doing - that will let me have the confidence to go around my town and get some candids done - like perhaps a certain focal length?
Out of the colour ones - l like number two - the one of the guy chilling with a pot of coffee.
As for your black and white shots - the one of the old lady - number nine, is my favourite.
Well what I do is set the camera to the widest angle possible, and I have a little sensor on the camera (uber DOF ). Aperture was wide open to get quick enough shutter speeds, and ISO at 200.
Then I just walk along with my camera attached to my hand, ready with my finger on the shutter to take pictures. If I see something of interest in the middle distance, then I put the camera to my eye, take the shot, and put it back down to waist level.
Also helps if you walk really slowly, gives you time to analyse what is going on around you.
