More Kim John-Un atrocities

An interesting point, I do agree with the OP that the world generally shouldn't sit idle while innocent people are slaughtered - but on the other hand, there are far easier ways to save lives than military intervention.

Really, if anybody was to get involved it would have to be fully sanctioned by the international community as the UK/US have lost all legitimacy in this regard over the recent conflicts.

I don't recognise the argument that a dictator should be allowed to slaughter his people in his own nation, we are a global community & should act as one.

I don't really see what the world 'community' can do in this situation. The political situation in that region has rendered the West impotent. The only nation who can really do anything to change the situation is China as they're propping the whole sorry regime up, and it's just not in their political interest to do anything about it.

Do you know anything, ANYTHING about US foreign policy??

You don't obviously. Even if it was "all about the oil" (in reality it's far more complex), shale exploration in the US is nearing self-sufficiency - it's doubtful if even the Iraq invasion would happen if it was today.

Invade North Korea? Forget it.
(1) It's nowhere near the Middle East (so no regional supply security worries)
(2) Its neighbour and ally is China who have the largest army in the world and would definitely not stand idly by. The last time the USA took on China in NK they had a 30 year advantage in technology, the biggest richest economy in the world and a military twice the size. The best they could manage was a draw. Nowadays they'd not even come close.

But China's army is completely untested, remember Iraqs 1 million man army? Disintegrated in seconds, the only thing China got going for them is Nukes

Someone should shoot him. Someone from North Korea. Preferably someone who works for him. I wonder what would happen then.

Well if you're prepared to attack China at the same time, wipe out their air force, nukes and destroy their command and control systems etc.. then the massive army would indeed likely be much less of a threat.

The problem is if its a more local conflict as before and they're able to send wave after wave of troops across the border...

He now decides that he doesn't want his 'treacherous' uncles family around, so he ordered the executions of his uncles siblings, their spouses, the children and grandchildren.

Now I'm no big fan of needless military action, but how long can this man be allowed to continue in this manner? If he's off-key and sadistic enough to do this to his own family, I have no doubt he is capable of far greater atrocities given the chance.

do they have oil or rich resources ? no!

no one give a **** then.

In all fairness to Kim Jong. He sure knows how to keep his people in line. Had Assad, followed the same simple protocols that Jong does, he wouldn't be in the mess that he is now, would he.
