More power!

Okay, so I have this great little 650W modular PSU that I've had so little problems with, and it only cost me £30. However, with the purchase of a new hard-drive, and the intention to buy another graphics card, I have realised this PSU's Achilles' heel.

It only has one 'line' of SATA power, so it's a real stretch to plug in my two hard-drives and my DVD reader. Plus there are only three connectors on that line, so if I ever buy another hard-drive I won't be able to power it!!

Also, it is lacking in the number of MOLEX connectors it has. I have used all but one so far, but another HD4850 will need two...

The peculiar thing is that there is still a spare 'slot' in the PSU for another line, they just don't supply you with one, and I cannot seem to find an individual one on the internet.

So my question is this; can you recommend a good 650+ W modular PSU that has more than 3 SATA connectors, on more than one 'line', with at least three 'lines' of MOLEX connectors. Oh, and if it glows any colour, that colour must be blue or UV.

£100 seems a lot for a PSU... is this a misconception of mine or is it possible to get what I want for less?

Well going from a £30 PSU to a £100 one does some a bit of a jump.

As a lot of people will tell you on here, never skimp on your PSU.

A cheap one is likely to take out most of your other components when it goes bang, whereas a good one will most likely take out itself. You'd be lucky to get anywhere near 600W on your old PSU.

Also, cheap one's never supply you with enough stable power, whereas a good one does exactly what it says on the tin.

:)

Alrighty, fair enough! I'll postpone upgrading until next month when the student loan comes in! Thank you for the advice! Oh, and is the Be Quiet! worth the extra money in your opinion(s)?

Both are very good PSUs.

I think it's more a matter of personal choice tbh. I currently have a Coolermaster one and think it's fantastic. However, for my next build I'll probably get a BeQuiet! as I've heard nothing but positive reviews.
