Ok, so ive finaly got my machine working.
But i bought tri ram insted of dual, but the guys on here and guys at OCUK said it should run as a matched pair and a single, or atleast 3 singles.
But when i add the third stick of ram in the machine doesn't boot. It turns on, lights go on, fans turn, then a red light flashes on the graphics card. The screen has no signal and then the speeker beeps. this repeats untill you force power off.
Whats happening?
Also the guys at OCUK suggested i try and get hold of a single stick so that it will run as 2 matched pair pretty much definatly.
So if any one wants to buy sum tri reaper ram for a match pair i will buy one off you ;-)
If i can fix this problem.
Thanks.

yeh it was but it only cost me £80 for 6gb in tri and its £80 for 4gb in dual so there no point. Plus the reapers have better cooling than all the dual channel ones they stock.
I just dont know why it wont boot with all 3 in, because other ppl on here have done it and the guys at ocuk said it should be ok :-s

Have you tried giving your memory a bit more juice/voltage - that's the first thing i would do? (Edit: if it doesn't work what are your memory settings and current voltage?)

If that desn't work you could up your NB voltage by a small amount.

how small is small. Im still not 100% sure on how it all works, ive got it set at 1066 in the bios atm, how far should i up it?
Sorry, i aint to up on the technical bits yet :-s
But im learning.

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 810 2.6GHz
mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 (MB-168-GI)
ram: OCZ Reaper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-14400 (1800MHz) Tri-Channel (OCZ3RPR1800LV6GK)

Arctic Cooling Freezer Xtreme CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/AM2+/AM2/939)
1050w silent psu.

Did you try the 0.1v voltage increase? (you could go up in increments of 0.05v if you want to try a more conservative approach - and your mb allows it.)

Clock speed and stuff ok too?

Hi, iv got to go away till 2moro night. So i cant test anyting extra out now.
I hope ive given you guys enough info to work with :-s
I'll b bak 2moro to continue trying to fix this.
I will try any suggestions posted and then 'bump' it bak up with the results of ur suggestions.
Thanks for the help guys.

*bump* sorry, know bumping is frowned upon but any one got any ideas why it wont boot with 3 ram?
Thanks
If more info needed please ask, desperate to get it working

Firstly, what is your voltage set at in the BIOS? (it's not in the pic you posted)

Secondly, are you absolutely sure your system is stable with just the 2 sticks in?

Personally, i would run both memtest and prime95 for a few hours with just the 2 sticks installed and make sure that the system can cope comfortably with that setup. It may be that you think your problem is a third stick of memory when in fact your system may not even be stable with just 2. It's best to rule this possibilty out as you could be wasting time looking for an answer to your third stick problem when in actual fact it's not truely stable with 2 sticks. The probelm may prove to be one and the same - but it may save time with the trouble shooting process.

Once you've established that it's stable with 2 sticks then make a list of your voltages and timings for the guys to look over - and we'll try and get your 3rd stick up and running.

Hi, i know i didn't post a voltage pic, but i did that bit right.
I Put it in the other space i has for a stick of ram and it worked...but why would that be?
Does this mean part of my mobo is faulty?
It was from ocuk but was marked as *b* stock, but that wouldn't have a broken RAM port would it?!?
Gona try some more differnt configurations then get back to you.
Also, should i leave it all with the extra voltage going through it? Will it make it work faster/better? or will it just ware the ram out quicker?
Thanks again guys.
