More PS3's sold than the 360 in Europe

Europe is huge for Sony, so they should have been giving it priority I think.

Also, I'll say it again, only 5 million 360's in Europe? I doubt it, that would mean the US and Japan have about 17 million between them and I seriously doubt Japan has had many sell.

Most are in America like 10 mil of them, Japan has only bought about 600,000 of them...

and on that note, the 360 is trouncing all over the PS3 in the USA.. as only 3 mil PS3's have sold over here... Americans are a finicky bunch though.. They still buy VHS... Honest !!

Yeah true, though won't be too big a difference but some, gotta be at least 9 million knocking around in Europe though.

I'm sure we will. :p

The 9 mil or so 360's are probably in a combination of the following

Mexico / South America
Hong Kong
India / China
Austrailia
Canada

Basically in any decent economy or emmerging market.

All the above EXCEPT Europe

AND another thing the 360 sales in the USA are completely misguided thanks to the return system out here..

As an example... According to the stats' I've purchased 5 360's.... Except I only have one.... Why because in America when you have faulty goods, you go back to the store they give you a refund and then you go grab another off the shelf.. Seeing that the USA has sold 10mil, one can only suspect that a good portion of those 10mil are replacements off the shelf for the faulty 360's.

If Microsoft ever had a chance of winning the console war this time round, they've almost certainly blown it with the RROD. Doesn't matter if it's fixed its legacy will remain with them until the end of the 360's lifespan, and even if they decide to do a next next gen, people will just be that little more warey.

Unfortunately 10mil UK/US loyal xbox followers are simply not enough to keep the console and brand alive, with all the bad press aimed at the general punter public that it has rec'd

The 1 billion cost last ditch effort at adding 3yrs warranty was the final stake.

What we are seeing here is the last of the best days for the 360.. From here onwards it will slowly slide down and down the hill and the PS3 climbs and climbs.

Utter rubbish, the games show that its not sliding anywhere

utter rubbish?? then why is the ps3 already outselling it?

The original xbox was deemed a failure by microsoft.. They said this is just the stepping stone for the next console aka the 360.. yet though it started off on a good start, it's now been halted.. Contracts are in place so the games will continue, but if the overall sales are starting to show slowness then its dead

Hey I'm only stating the fact that the PS3 is outselling the XBOX360 and its userbase in Europe is now larger than that of the 360... Plus in Japan the 360 is an utter failure..

So ask yourselves.. Can it survive being a success in only 1 out of the 3 major territorries?

With the reputation of not only being unreliable but probably the most unreliable piece of electronic entertainment ever released.

These are simple facts gentlemen. Common sense will tell you where it will all end..

Ask anyone who doesn't give a hoot about about either console, present them the facts and they will all come to the conclusion that Microsoft already know..

If the xbox brand wasn't owned by Microsoft it would already be bankrupt.. I'm not dissing the 360 in anyway, its a great console, well sort of, except for its reliablity and noise issues, had these things been taken care of right from the word go, then it may have stood a good chance to better the PS brand.. That is what Microsoft was hoping for, much in the same way that Sony did over Nintendo and Sega, but suceeded.. Microsoft unfortunately have not...

It's not going their way, so Microsoft have really now got their work cut out for them... And the worst part is it's all their fault, they have no-one else to blame other than themselves.

Sad but true.

Can they fix it? ? ? I would hazard a guess as no, because the RROD has hurt its reputation and by far is the most serious problem facing the 360 and all future Microsoft consoles..

Well Sony seem to think the PS3 will last 10 years. I'd like to think they have a better understanding of the market than any of us!

And it very well may.. If Microsoft decide that the 360 is the last of their consoles then who's to compete against the PS3 ....

No-one else will dare invest the millions upon millions to launch a new console.. It will only be Sony vs Nintendo...

I hope Microsoft do release a new console in a 3 or 4 yrs from now to keep the competition alive.. It's only good for the consumer... The problem is if they can't make the 360 profitable then its anyones guess as to whether they'll launch the next version... I'm guessing no... Unless they can turn it round.. The very deep pockets will help.. But you can bet some of the board will be saying lets drop this whole gaming division like a lead balloon...

Historically there's only ever been room for two..
This round up is starting to look like it'll be Sony vs Nintendo....
