More rioting in Birmingham?

My cousin, her fella and two babies are in Birmingham and currently packing bags. Apparently the childrens' hospital really has been done over. Bad, bad times. :(

Oh and +1 for bringing in the army, tbh.

i know everyone is saying 'zomg send the immigrants back,' but is it just people from other countries, or is it the english rioting too?

i dont mean to be racist or anything, its just that living in slough im a bit worried, because its probably more than 50:50 english:immigrants in slough now
(my location in my profile is my term time address for when im at uni in case anyones wondering what im not doing in Reading)

Seriously, shoot some of them, it's not like they're going to shoot back.

They pass all these ridiculous terrorism laws, yet can't pass a simple law to allow armed police officers to use lethal force in riots, without any repercussions. Obviously some common sense should be employed, like making public announcements for everyone to evacuate the area immediately and return to their homes within the next 30 minutes. Anyone who has not done so will be arrested unless they have a good reason for being there (shop manager, etc). Anyone who resists will be shot, no questions asked.

This all makes me a saaaaad panda. I heard a childrens' hospital also got attacked in brum too?

WHAT!? really? if that is true then these scum need to die the most horrid death known to man death by a nice cancer with no treatment.

several hours after the rumour started ITN had confirmation from the hospital that they were fine and untouched. There's a hell of a lot of chinese whispers going around and even making it to news sites.

As far as I'm aware I saw the only *unrest* in Manchester, there was a car alight by the side of princess parkway, however there's nothing to suggest it wasn't just a joyridden car being torched as could have happened on any day.
The police were prepared for a lot more though, and I imagine they'll continue to be tonight.

Definitely not IMO, give the resources to the police to sort it, they're not without the power to do it, so let them do their job.

It would be a way of separating the dirty work from the community-friendly attitude that the plod are currently obliged to provide. Any nasty stuff could be handled by an organisation that aren't expected to go in with a soft touch, whereas at the moment everyone seems to think that the police have no right to use force.

The large Tesco store in Aston was raided. They beat up a manager and went for the cigarette counter, they also broke into the tesco direct store room (where peoples catalogue orders are held I assume). There were police there doing fingerprinting when I went in earlier.
