more specific amd vs intel question

I've always gone for Gigabyte, never had any issues with them and they do have a UK RMA centre.

But ultimately the choice is yours :D

So, ive done some reading which kinda puts me off amd's 8 core cpus.

Ive got a budget of c£300. Need to buy a new mobo with that as well. Thus wondering whether i should ditch my phenom 955 and go to intel, or keep with amd and get a top mobo and upgrade the cpu at a later date?

What would you guys do?

Out of interest what motherboard do you have now??

Only thing, Asus RMA isn't meant to be that good, and it's also not UK support, so you've got to ship over seas (Unless you use your E-tailer as a middleman)

Thinking about it i may as well get a new psu as well. My current one sounds like a jet engine and is getting on a bit. Dont want it going and taking my new parts with it.

Want it modular this time. Budget around the 90 mark.

Ive got an antec 1200 case will have the 3570k and that gigabyte board, an ssd, dvd drive, 2 hdds, gfx card, several case fans.

My old one was 650W, what do i realistically need?
