Hi all

As some of you may have seen I created a thread about 1060 SLI but I will be buying one GPU now and one in a few weeks... just wondering if 2 1060's would be ideal...

Also I've seen a few RX480's for around £200.. are they still worth the purchase and could they be Crossfired

I just want more power from my YOU as I can't afford a 1070 or 1080 in one hit

I'm just abit confused as people have mentioned on here that they've got 2x1060 working and it performs better than 1x1080

They don't have SLI fingers for an SLI bridge. Even if you could get it working your still better off with a more powerful single card. You know your always going to get the better performance as SLI is always a hit and miss as to what titles support it reasonably well.

Yeah I've heard SLI can be a bad choice with some titles... May just stick with what I got and save up for a 1070 8GB as I'm sure that will perform well for a couple of years

If I was upgrading from a 1060, I would skip the 1070 and go for a 1080. You're kind of forced to at the moment, as 1070's are widely out of stock and have had their prices inflated a lot; to the point that they cost as much as 1080s.

Well at the moment I only have a 1050ti Superclocked in my wife's build and I have my old man's old 960 so I want something I'll see a difference with and will do for a couple of years

I don't think there is a huge difference between a 1060 and a 1050ti. Also, the 1060 does struggle to reach 60fps in some modern games today on max settings at 1080p. If you were wanting a card to last 2 years, the 1060 might struggle down the line.

In any case, the GTX 1060, 1070 and RX 580 are way overpriced at the moment, so it would be a bad time to upgrade. I'm in the same boat, and it is annoying having no way to buy a new GPU for a reasonable price.

How about £200ish for a 980 or 980ti for a bit more... is that a step up from a 1060
