**Morrowind Game Of The Year**

Good ol' Fargoth, I'm sure you'll learn to hate him like the rest of us. :p

I wouldn't bother buying any armour/weapons, personally; you can find good items just by going in to random tombs/dungeons. :)

Tbh, I prefer Oblivion. I'm personally not a fan of looking around for 20 hours trying to find one cave or something.

With about two exceptions, directions are simple to follow in MW once you understand one thing: take them literally. If the NPC says "West of here" he/she means directly West: put a ruler on the map and draw a line. Of course the NPC in one quest who confuses West and East doesn't help.

But at least it's realistic, unlike Ob's Finger-of-God tracking system, that even follows NPCs about.

Get the mod that get rid of cliff racers, they are without a doubt the most annoying mobs in video gaming history.

There was a thread on here last week about a project called morroblivion, basically some genious converting the morrowind gfx to the oblivion engine :)

Did anyone help some random guy with a quest, with a reward called "the helmet of Blindness" or something? While I thought Morrowind was good, it was at that point when I realised it was something special.

brilliant game...sooo much atmosphere loved the cities. the massive maze that is Vivec (levitation comes in handy here ;) ) my favourite is that red dust storm place. Awesome..cant see 5 yards in front coz ofthe howling dust storm :D

Make sure you get the boots of blinding speed!

One of my favourite rpgs of all time, much better than oblivion.
The whole lore of the game is much more immersive, going to the daedric and dwemer ruins is one of the best parts of the game.

I just made myself a jumping robe (jump 100pts for 1 sec on self) and then an amulet of slowfall for the way down.... a lot of fun getting around like that. :p

I assume this is what wordy meant above. First time I put them on I realised the joke, as I hadn't heard how to get around it. Once you figure the trick though, they are good - too fast if anything.

I didn't figure it out for a bit either - I spent ages playing the game with the gamma turned *way* up :p

i love morrowind, i think its much better than oblivion, the law is better and the gameplay tbh, much longer game too, with more factions to join.

I think he meant lore, if not even then I would choose the balmora guards over the random imperials in oblivion anyday!

Lol. Indeed :)

I still preferred the guards in Daggerfall though - it was fun slaughtering the endless supply of low-res silver sprites /memories...

I'm quite tempted to play through Morrowind again after all this. It was a damn good game.

Ahh are they boots?

Been awhile since I played. Didn't actually realise they worked just thought I'd been 'done' :p
