Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for PC

Does anyone recall the rumour from the original MK arcade that Goro had a fatality that tore you in half? Literally straight down the middle sorta similar to Kung lao in mk2 with the hat blade? I always heard that years ago with people swearing they seen it being done, was like an urban legend, everyone knew someone that had seen it but there was little in the way of evidence as Goro just used to use any move to finish you off. Was only years later it was confirmed he had no fatality in the original coin op.

Was only much later he actually got something along those lines as a finisher, can't recall if it was in MK9 or earlier than that.

ed: actually 2011 version, and here it is

Kintaro's second fatality also reminds me a lot of how it was described by some people with each arm taking a limb.

Oh my mistake there is 15 classic skins in the game tho they dont look classic i mean the subzero and the likes have a pattern on them which ruins them also their masks dont really look that nice either.

The actual original costume's I think had a pattern on them but it was hard to see in the first game and they looked more plain, its more noticeable in MK2 on the ninja outfits as the colour palette was upgraded.

Have to agree on the masks though the hood as well looks very floppy.

I still say mk 2 was the best one of the lot for a few reasons. 1 i payed 49 quid for it on snes when i was young and trying to get your parent to get it for that much was hard lol. 2 i think the style was perfect and had a great bunch of toons and there fatalities were mint with the sound effects at the time. 3 it looked like digitized ppl instead of cartoony gfx which made mk 1 and 2 and 3 i think really cool to watch in motion. 4, the levels and the announcer was mint. 5 introduced babality and friendships and the likes which were corny lol but fun.

Anyhow thats why i like mk2. Anyone else have a fav of the series and hope ppl dont lynch me for going a little off topic i.e the new game.

Also Gerard. Its just an idea but maybe remove the utube vid cos the admins here might not like gory stuff embeded like that as they want it to be a family forum. Personally im ok with it but well dont want you getting in trouble. ;)

Personally I always thought the original coin op mk1 had more realism to it, the sequel brought in more colours and started to look a bit cartoony. I remember Mean Machines had a big spread on it and they addressed the colours saying it was more vibrant looking but done in the same manner as the original.

Always hated the way you had to buy a magazine to figure out the fatalities, you had some people who knew a few but for the most part it was magazines feeding the info.

Ah i remember a nice poster i got out of one of the mags for mk2 moves for all of em. I could never remember them all so that was a god send. Days without the net sure was tough as a kid lol.

Your right about mk1 being the better for the motion capture look but i dunno if the arcade was any diff to the console version if it was then hmm i might have to see if theres a utube vid of the differences.

I might get this if it gets cheaper like near a tenner but atm i dunno as i dunno if id play it a lot. Got the older mk games to play yet as well really.

Tis a shame the character selection is a bit on the low side from what i would have expected from an evolution aspect of the series. True less chars but more details and moves and stuff but still. I would have liked to play goro and shang tsung and some others from past games.

Btw i wonder why they never did dlc for the old costumes of the characters like cubzero and scorpion and the likes from say mk 1 and 2 era. That would have been nice as i duno if i like the modern versions of their getup.

This game is fail as it dont work online and the matching is terrible. Ive requestd a refund.

The best version for me is the Original Coin-op version which i actually own as a PCB JAMMA compatible. I can play this on my supergun which majority of this forum have never even heard of. Ive had it for around 17 years and i also have many other original arcade games from the golden age.:D

Well done.....

I seem to remember the console version having similar issues on release, dunno if it got fixed or not as I never play it too much. With a bit of luck it will be patched soon enough if others are having similar issues.

Heard of the supergun in the 90's, pretty sure games master magazine had an article on it at one point.

Anyone still playing this? Can be picked up for just short of £9 atm so I've picked it up.

Fancy a few games against real opponents, matchmaking seems to be slow/poor searching for games. :(

Anyone wants a fight (in the nicest possible way :p ) add me on steam: rifleeyes

I also picked it up at that price :)

I will add you over the weekend, would be nice to play some real opponents. Hope you are no pro though, I barely pull of the normal moves, let alone combos. Lol

I think it is on Amazon US (just use a US address at checkout) for about £8. That was a couple days ago so may have gone now but worth checking.

Yep. that is how I got it.

Added staror1 + rifleeyes. Look forward to some MK :)
