Mortgage calculation question

There is definitely something missing in the OPs figures.

It could be as simple as him inheriting £250k and using it to pay off a chunk of his mortgage or something.

There is no way the person earned enough to overpay at that rate and have no clue what to do with 50K or worry about the 50K (because 50K would have to be just a few months wages).

How can someone with a 500k mortgage and earning enough to pay £1900 a month not work this out for themselves?

Or is he the rich/low IQ type?

I've worked with some people who are thick as pig **** earning the big bucks.

A lot of the time it's a political game and they're just good at playing it to get up that high and they don't actually do anything of worth. They've just convinced the right people they are.

Other times they're experts in one area but seem to have traded it for basic human faculties like math or it skills.

There's also business owners and people riding their parents coat tails.

It's a fairytale that your skill or intelligence is directly linked to your earning, often it isn't.

I doubt very much that even the best blagger could sustain a 6 figure salary job for 3 years without at least someone questioning it.

Not just 6 figure... £250k+ that only nets you ~£11k a month.

I doubt someone who is paying ~£9k mortgage a month only leaves themselves with £2k for bills / food and disposable..

I still think this is a covert lottery win thread.
