Surprised there's no thread on this, Europe are leading 4-1 after Day 1 in a race to 11.

Day 2 play has just started on Sky Sports now.

I did not think anyone here would be watching it tbh. :)

The two rookies Mike Dechaine & Chris Melling have played blinders so far.

In saying that I did not expect the Kaiser to lose to Dechaine like he did.

Cmon Europe !!!

Is that bellpiece Strickland playing? How someone hasn't cracked him on the Jaw by now is a mystery.

I've just started watching this and they're talking about Rodney Morris going mental. What happened?

He was getting upset at the support Europe has and asked that they be silenced when USA playing their shots. Europe responded that the same is happening for them and then Morris asked Darren Appleton if he wanted to go out to the car park and sort it out. Sky has apologised umpteen times for it as there were a few swearies aired..

Thanks. Car park?! Sounds a bit childish! I guess it will be on youtube sometime!

You will get the re-run tomorrow on SS. I'd would take money on Appleton wining anyway (he is an ex-boxer !)

Anyhoo 5-4 Europe now.

I don't normally watch pool but I tuned in randomly to this yesterday and was glued to it for almost 2 hours, Europe were on fire. What an absolute muppet that guy was today for losing it from team USA, glad Europe pulled it back to end the day 6-4 up. It was really entertaining to watch though and I'll be following it closely. Cmon Europe!

I remember the first or second year they played it. Jimmy White and Alex Higgins played a doubles match and were making shots off 4 cushions etc. It was just amazing.

I have watched it for numerous years now and it is, as pool competitions (8 & 9 ball) go, got to be the best to watch for sheer entertainment value.

This Putnam guy has completely bottled it under the pressure in his singles match, I think I could have beat him.

8-4 Europe. :)
