Mosh pit’s???

its good fun, specially when not in huge spaces, like at outdoor slipknot major band gigs, but indoor gigs are the best as the music is louder, and better chance to get freebies ;) also you get closer to the band.

you have to watch out for crowd surfers, they just leap ontop of you and think they are god.

lamb of god, that is good fun!

When I go in mosh pits I just jump and 'bump' into people. I don't actively seek out or attempt to hit anyone. I actually keep my hands at about chest level just to rebound people away from me so we can bounce off each other.

Some of the mosh pits you see here and there can be insane, but then you'd be insane to go in them. Know when you can't take the heat.

I remember Slipknot at Ozzfest 2001 at Milton Keynes Bowl. That was carnage and there was nothing anyone could do about it, you literally got sucked into the circle pits going on and had to mosh to save your life lol.

My mate left mid gig because he was winded and throwing up.

Sometimes I can't believe the n00bness of the pits like that day, and other days it's so much fun.

Edit: Ah yes, I forgot, most people (even the n00bs that look like they are trying to murder someone in the pits) actually pick you up if you fall and are very friendly while doing so.

My GF would have a fit watching that video.

We went to see Muse (yes not exactly the heaviest of bands) and the crushing there (which was really quite hard to be fair) made her totally freak out so we had to go to the back. I think it was the sheer lack of space to move/getting pulled under everyone's feet that she was scared of.

Thankfully I've never been in anything like in that video, I really wouldn't know what to do as it just seems really totally pointless and it looks really stupid to boot :p

that's thing thing about moshing - you get much more space and fresh air than in a big crushing crowd

Zefan, Muse at Wembley? If so then yeah..a 'mosh pit' was created where i was and i made a quick escape to the side. :o It wasn't even for a good song. =/

They just look like a huge fight to me. Dont see point of it really.

it seriously is fun, just dont go to anything big. ot anything containing goths, my friend made fatal mistake of going to see manson only to have being poked to death by huge spikes on peoples arms.

Surely that was just "a fight".

Im pretty sure thats a "Wall of Death", not a mosh pit.
Few of the clips were, most were "hard core" dancing (the people trying to beat the **** out of the air). Wall of death is when the crowd split into two sections (sometimes just a circle) and run into the centre as fast as possible when the song kicks in.

Moshing is generally just jumping around smashing into people, typically not trying to hurt anyone, though of course injuries happen.

Thats how it always used to be, it was just a pushing bouncing falling over mess of fun in the old days, back when I was moshing to bands like Megadeth - man, that was fun. Birmingham NEC.

People these days seem to think its about doing lots of hurt to people, but it really isn't. Its supposed to be a manly bonding thing, I think, you know, show a bit of aggression followed by some friendliness as you get helped up. Not sure what the idiots are doing these days, they're like hoodie chavs without the hoods.
