Most annoying ignorant comments

But overall it lacks a large number of console exclusives.

Especially now with everything that is on PC appearing on xbox and a large amount of xbox 'exclusives' which just so happen to appear on PC's at the same time.

Another comment i hate is xxx is a yyy killer. like everything is trying to be/supposed to be a 'Halo beater' that just gets my goat.

is it just me or do i seem to remember a halo 1 port working entirely fine on a PC and appearing to be one of the single most bland, boring and repetitive games i'd ever seen. room after repeated room, get to end, come back through all the repetitive rooms again. there was entirely nothing in the entire 1st game that i thought was fantastic or innovative or better than a multitude of PC FPS's.

now i'll be fair, i've not seen or touched Halo 2, waiting for a crack, i mean, the release day(i'm joking, its funny) to see if its any good. though most likely i'll buy it in a long time when it comes out at a budget/classic price as it is an old game now.

i played the halo 3 beta for a half day, wasn't hugely impressed with much in it either.

the main things behind fps's are smootness, ease of control and not always, definately not always, but very often the speed of the game. quite frankly i prefer accurate mouse/keyboard WITHOUT aiming help, than a slow ass gamepad WITH aiming help. its irritating enough that you play CS:S and some sniper kills by just shooting anywhere near you, thats already bad enough and has needed fixing for years, its the worst thing about CS:S and i try to always play on non sniper servers as you have to be more accurate with other guns. the snipers are like playing against aiming help idiots and it sucks completely.

someone made a point about GTA having fairly basic gameplay and some other title thats far more complex but is considered kiddie. the reason a lot of us find nintendo games by and large kiddie, is when you have big fluffy looking creatures that makes lots of cute noises and have subtitles so you can see what they are saying, that kind of stuff is kiddie. little toy looking characters that making ickle beeping sounds feels kiddy. nintendo IS kiddie. the Wiimote IS a gimmick and so far in every game i've seen does not at all IMPROVE gameplay or control, but replaces existing control.

there are lots of games that have added the waving the arm about but actually reduced the overall control level you have over the character on screen. i have more control in a 360 tennis game than i do on Wii sports tennis. This is where Nintendo have utterly failed to deliver, that game should have all the existing ability of other tennis titles but ADD the racket swinging. but it put in racket swinging and REMOVED direct control of the characters. theres a sacrifice in control in most of the titles i've tried so i don't think they've moved forward at all, just sideways. i know of lots and lots of friends parents, my parents, friends of friends parents who all wouldn't try the 360 and HAVE tried the Wii, but almost every older person who has tried the Wii is already bored because they heard the hype, the "its for everyone" crap, tried it and found it boring, not hugely accurate, not realistic and not very fun past the first few hours.

they had some neighbours round in the first week my mum bought a Wii, and though the same people come round none of them want to play the Wii anymore. Wii might have massive sales on the back of hype, but a know loads of people with Wii's who will never buy another game and are thinking they will probably sell theirs soon. out of maybe 30-40 friends at uni with a Wii only 2-3 think they'll keep it when they get home, everyone's looking to sell and no one gives a crap about any of the titles that are coming up because compared to the titles coming up on the 360/ps3 they just suck.

Person 1: "My PS3 is better than everything else"

Person 2: "Haha, you're so wrong, I laugh at your arrogance, my xbox360 is great"

Person 3: "I like my Wii, it's so different! I own a variety of iPods."

Person 2: "Nintendo, lol. You're such a fanboy, the Xbox360 statistically is the greatest thing in the world, there's very little evidence, but it is a fact"

Person 1: "The Xbox can't be great, it's made by Microsoft. Microsoft are evil. I've installed Linux onto my PS3."

Person 3: "Erm, doesn't blu ray do the whole DRM thing?"

Person 1: "Quiet Mario, go sit in the corner and watch some anime or something"

Spot on. If you live at uni and live with other students you have plenty of time to play these games. In the "real" world if you get 1 or 2 hours free during the week to play on your console and your mates aren't round (because they too have jobs responsibilities etc) then you are stuck with a console that focuses on local multiplayer games.

It would be interesting to see how many Wii games are sold in the UK weekly. Clearly there is a lot of hardware out there that has been sold and is in people's living rooms already. I am unsure whether these type of people buy 1 game a month or anything like that.

sorry but that sentence just ruined the whole credibility of your argument.

Even gamers who think that the wii is a gimick or whatever surely must be able to see that nintendo still make some of the best franchises ever

So they tell me, although none of the Nintendo exclusives have ever done anything for me personally, seeming to be very Japan and/or child-centric.

I consider myself a true gamer (although I dont get as much gaming time as I would like) and have played many, many different console, home computer and PC games over the past 27 years or so. There really isn't a single Nintendo game or franchise, at the minute, which appeals to me on either DS or Wii. I personally do find most Nintendo games to be too kiddy, but it's each to their own I suppose and if Ninty games float your boat then good on ya. I love Pro-Evo and Champ Man but cringe when the Mario Strikers adverts come on the TV. I think there is a time when you get bored of the Spyro, Crash, Sonic, Mario type characters and like to go for a nice bit of realism, blood, guts, fast shiny cars and fit, scantly clad, women in my games ;)

maybe u play games for the realism but i liek to think i play them to get away from realism

also you may not like them but surely you can see why they are considered good games by the vast majority of the gaming community and also understand why they sell

Which is what all the 15 year olds want with their GTA's etc. I'm a gamer, looks don't matter. To any gamer it should be gameplay uber alles.

Well my finishing statement in that last post was meant to be tongue in cheek, but there really isn't anything Nintendo are doing at the minute which interests me and I just don't like the look of the cute and kiddy characters in the games!
