What, in your view, is the most arrogant profession in the world today?

What profession attracts the type of people that when you meet them, you can immediately tell that they think they're much, MUCH better than you in every possible way? Doesn't even have to be a profession as such, if for example you can think of people in certain jobs that don't require professional qualifications but that are arrogant.

Just interested to hear what people think :D. It's following a discussion I had at a wedding over the weekend.

Shop assistants in expensive clothing retailers.

And posh jewlers, last time I went to one on Bond Street, the security guard stopped me and warned me that I was about to enter a room with some of the most pompous and arrogant people that I was ever likely to meet. lol

This. Only rivalled by sales executives working for the likes of Sunseeker, Fairline etc. who themselves (after discussion with a 'friend' who is one) don't earn anywhere near the figure to be arrogant and self righteous. Christ, the people who buy the yachts aren't.

Any shop assistant in any shop that has this attitude with me just gets laughed at and treated like crap. It doesn't matter where they work, they're still a shop assistant.

If they're nice, then i'll be nice back, it's the way the world goes round.

Not nearly as pompous and arrogant as the clientele though.

Not necessarily. The 'actual' clientele are generally extremely down to earth and most of them time you wouldn't know them from Adam, it's a minority who act like that. It's the same above, with yachts/large boats etc. those who actually have the money and don't need to pretend are some of the most pleasant people I've met and most of the time the only reason you know they're wealthy is by what is on their wrist.
