I dont use a phone much at all. I keep it turned off until I need to use it , my current phone is an Alcatel and does what i want but it is ridiculously slow now .

All I need is WiFi, a few apps , camera , i don't store pictures , games, music ect.

What is the oldest model touchscreen phone that will still function well enough ?

I could happily use a Pixel 2/2XL as a daily driver. Good camera, clean software after minimal debloating and feels lovely to use even now.

The only issue is that some networks have no provisioning for voice over LTE for the Pixel 2. For example I can use mine on Lebara but not on Three.

If I was you I'd aim for something like Pixel 6a.

Post and run for another 18 months

HMD do a phone called the HMD Aura 2, it sells for under £80, it runs Android 14 GO and has has 4GB of memory.

HMD also sell the HMD Key for under £60, however I would avoid that as it only has 2GB ram and I expect it will be to slow.
