most brits were conned

something to do with houses, I'm guessing mortgages and taxes and the MP or something

not my house, i don't pay for it i just live here
i wasn't played :D

But no-one ever gets to keep all their wage - taxes see to that, and everyone pays taxes. Does that mean no-one should work?

Anyway, I did read all of it, and I somewhat see the point, but I still need convincing (I've fallen for these sorts of things before and been burned, so more wary now).

Over-egging the MP link to the Housing Market thing, but I would be inclined to agree with the OP that the average working Brit has been conned massively.

The perpetrators of the con - faceless bankers, executives and private equity types - made their billions and are now enjoying the fruits of their crime. The average plonker in the UK/US/Most of Europe will only realise how screwed over they have been as time goes on....

In the meantime, consume some more reality TV / computer games / vapid celebrity stories / the climate of fear propaganda that whatever government or corporation is selling you. Don't pay any attention, listen to their lies and advice. Don't you know, its good business for them???!!

Good article, but you didn't need to be so aggressive with the link to it! YOU'RE SCREWED and YOU GOT PLAYED is hardly convincing people to read it...

For those who want a summary, it's basically talking about the housing market price boom in the context of the recent expenses scandal.

I was in the garden, planting some roses and getting sunburnt.

 <- right colour.
No fair! My garden is a bit of a mess at the moment and seriously needs me to get out there and sort it, but the inside of the house needs sorting since the building work last month. :(
