Most enjoable RPG of the moment?

If you consider Borderlands 2 in that category, then that would be it. Doesn't have much in the way of decision making and is quite linear in that respect.

Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Skyrim... Enjoyed all of them. Can't say which one of those I prefer, depends on the weather of the day. I prefer Fallout 3 / NV without the vats, just as a more action oriented game even though it's not its strong point.

Skyrim and New Vegas are the best out of those imo. Also I would say DA:O is right up there. With a mention to The Witcher, which I agree is far superior to the 2nd.

Nobody mentioned Dark Souls yet :(

It's the RPG of the moment for me, 135 hrs and counting, i'm lv 159 and running through New Game++ (3rd play through). I can't see myself getting bored anytime soon. I want to get max level, 711 :)

Probs because it is not in the ops list, even though others were mentioned that are not in his list. But I agree Dark Souls is the second best RPG after the Witcher series.

Oh god how can I forget Dragon Age: Origins, one of my most favourite games ever! Right up there with Knights of the old Republic.
Can't believe they didn't make a sequal to Origins :(

I think the op'r should consider this too, on NG+ myself at the moment having clocked up around 160 hrs and I'm still not bored of the game. Best combat mechanic in an action/rpg ever imo.

Witcher 1&2 also, play 1 first, it may be oldish with a slightly dated graphics engine (still looks nice all the same) but it's a very good rpg imo. Witcher 2 is one of the best rpg's in recent years and is graphically stunning.

Hell! They're all good on that list, play all of them but add Dark Souls and play that first.:p

Do I need to give Fallout 3 another chance?

I got it and stopped playing after barely getting out onto the surface. I don't know, there's just something about those Bethesda games that doesn't click with me. I can't seem to care about anything that happens in the world.

Witcher 1 has a good mod that overhauls the textures making it look pretty sweet. Also has a decent rain mod, just modding mine up atm ready for another playthrough :)

Dragon Age 1!!!! It's something you simply can't miss on the PC.

+1. DA:O was amazing. I can't believe how much time I spent in camp just talking to my companions!

I highly recommend Witcher 1. Once you get your head around the slighly dated graphics and get over the slow start, it's a truly amazing game.

Play Witcher 2 after you've completed the first one. :)

Both Witcher games have replay value as well, unfortunatley I haven't been able to find the time!

Skyrim was amazing fun for 100 hours or so, then it got dull. I'm not sure if the DLC will fix that and if it justifies returning to the game.

Fallout 3 should not be missed either - immensely enjoyable with all the DLC and better than New Vegas IMO.

I haven't played ME3 because I don't want Origin, but ME2 was amazing.

I disagree, IMO Dark Souls is the best in the RPG genre, and Skyrim is the best overall game. Don't ask me how that works because I don't know, but it's what my mind is telling me. :(

Nothing will ever beat the Witcher series, if you think otherwise I believe talk is over and it is time to step outside and handle this the old fashioned way :p
