Most Expensive MOT?

£80 new light unit, my dad fitted a rear light unit from a European fiesta when it was originally repaired. Had two reverse lights :P

silly fathers.......

MOT and service on the Boxster was £700 plus 4 new tyres just a few months before I hit a wall. :(

To be honest Im disappointed in my tyres. Im sure Ive barely done 8-10k on them and one is borderline. Most of my mileage has been motorway stuff without major ragging about. Toyo T1Rs they are. Decent grip though.

Tread wise, I have completed around 6k miles and they are down to 5mm all roid. Shame all 4 have picked up other injuries though :(

Having new fitted today, 90 quid each (235/45/18) instead of the original quote of 175...

My free MOT at Audi cost me £200 because I said can you look at this whirring noise. Turned out a cog had slipped since the cam belt had been changed.

Approx £1500...

1994 Gen 4 2.2 Vtec Prelude, needed new shocks and springs as they were not ahppy with the custom lowering kit the previous owner had fitted, new wheels and tyres, two new handbrake cables and three recondditioned brake calipers.... sold the car a year later with no MOT due to a failed clutch a week before MOT was due again :(

Think I've only ever had one MOT failure before.

Can't even remember what it was for, so couldn't have been expensive.

I generally check mine over before putting her in, saves heartache.

£1200, Clutch exploded on me a day before my MOT was due, got it recovered back to the garage, car passed the MOT even with the clutch buggered.

Not what i needed in december.

Erm my dearest one was about 60 for new brakes. Rest of them have been fairly straight forward, like handbrake not working, bulbs, was happy with the e39 last week as it failed on just handbrake needed adjustment

Thankfully the good ol Astra passed the other day! :D Only drained me of £45 for the MOT itself.

There was an advisory for the coils being corroded though so will probably have to get that done next year. Oh well ive got another year to save up :p

Never failed an MOT, I had a worn bush advisory two years ago, so I re-bushed the whole car :D

I plan to keep on top of everything with my car, preventative maintenance if you will.
