I've just applied for voluntary redundancy as I need a change in lifestyle!

Applied for college to do an access course with a view to going uni and becoming a physiotherapist.
Also will take my HGV as I need the income because I am not as flush as some students as I have a house and have to be self sufficient. :) Even with a job I can't afford a brand new car! lol

humble bragging yo.

this guy can't even afford a brand new car although he owns a house which is more than most of the future workforce can hope for

The only reason I have a house is because I bought a repossessed knacker and learned how to do things myself to save money like replacing radiators, putting up shelves, tiling floors and walls, redoing bathroom/loft, making a shed from a load of scrap wood etc. ;)

For me it's being made permanent at my job. Which is crazy for all the jobs I have had and years in the job market this is my first permanent position, it's always been agencies or rolling 3 month contracts.

Discovered Cushelle toilet tissue. It's really great. My hand doesn't go straight through unlike the Tesco value stuff we used to use.

Moving out of my lovely but tiny one bed flat, into a 3 bed flat (God bless house price increases) so I can finally start realising my dream to become a foster carer :)

Second time I've ever actually got a full time job NOT through an agency since leaving South Africa..

B&Q though, which our shop is shutting down in January.. But hell, I hate being worthless JSA scum, and it's going to be nice actually working again, so **** YEA!!!

Congratulations Goodie. :)

I agree with some things - if you genuinely try for work but can't get it I do feel for you and hopefully I will be lucky in that respect and I'm trying to avoid it.

I've only ever claimed once for 1 month as I was on sick for 9months but can't even remember what it was for but it was so much hassle I never bothered again. As a last resort I will do what I need to live but up until that point I'll not take anything off anyone except advice. :)

And sorry for my JSA scum thing, I did 2 courses and a lot of the other 'students' had been on JSA for 4+ years.. That's what I'm talking about. If it wasn't for JSA my life could have gone horrifically bad, so in a way it truly saved my life. So no way am I knocking it and the genuine people that need to use it, only the abusers which I have met too many unfortunately

^^ Actual moving, or extended holiday?
