Most life changing event for you this year?

Gave up smoking (and still have) but got ulcerative colitis as a result of not smoking.
Not a nice thing to go through. On some crazy steroids now that make me hungry all the time but least I don't need to live on the bog now :D

Wow, good luck man. I'm the 2nd out of 4 kids and my parents are absolutely mental
Thanks.
Our kids are all at school and our eldest is in her teens anyway so it shouldn't be too hard for us to do it again.
We were just starting to enjoy our lives as a couple again while the kids are at school, now it looks like that is being put on hold for a few more years yet.
This time though she has opted for a sterilization to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Most life changing event for you this year?

Well we lost our little pussy cat back in April - might seem very insignificant to many here but he'd been part of our family for over 18 years and he's still a huge loss to us . . . . . .

Since then we've made massive renovations to our home - my wife's career is going from strength to strength and I'm still very happy (and very fortunate) to only need to work part time, allowing me more time to concentrate further on my photography. All in all we've had very a turbulent six months and I feel humbled, while we're certainly not rich (financially speaking) by any manner of means. We're very well off in respect that we have each other, our health, our lovely home and our future together :)

For me it was when my daughter, then my wife, then myself came down with scarlet fever. Although rare thesedays, it seems it is making it's way back. A horrible, horrible illness that left my wife in hospital and myself and my daughter very poorly for several weeks. Puts things into perspective, although not life threatening under most cirumstances, watching the 2 most important people in my life suffering to that extent was indeed life changing.

Don't know about mine. I accept things, get used to things or move on very quick. I don't dwell on successes of worry too much about failures. If there's ANYTHING my 35 years alive have taught me, is that whenever you're flying, you usually fly into a tree, and if you're down in the dumps, there's usually a branch nearby to drag yourself out of the crap.

I bought a 5 bedroom house this year (I'm flying)
Broke up with girlfriend (into a tree)
My company didn't get the contract I was tendering for (in the dumps)
Just won a contract last month to build a block of flats (dragging myself out)

I've given up being too pleased or too down. Can't seem to control this damn roller coaster that's Life so I just hang on and hope for the best!

1) Got rid of the ex-gf properly and for ever
2) Secondment at work made permanent week before last
3) Touched my toes for the first time! (just really inflexible)

Next get on the housing ladder

My 2nd child born on April 23rd, a boy called Frankie. Thought having 2 would be much more difficult, but it isn't really.

First one was definitely the most challenging!

Sadly my Grandad passed away in January, left a massive hole in the family but he had been suffering from COPD for a long time so the main thing is he isnt suffering from this.

On the back of this it made me stronger as a person, the company I used to work for was going into Liquidation, then the assets had been purchased by another company. Wasn't happy where I was and after being offered a role with the new company I would have usually just gone with it however grew some balls and told them all where to go.

Working from home now for company that seems to care for their workforce, appreciates everything you do and on top of that i think I will be around 50% better off in the first year compared to the last job so win win.

Also not this year however was only a couple of weeks off, we moved into a new family home - 4 bed detached. This has transformed our lifestyle and as also changed our lives for the better.

All in all, I can deffinately say from bad comes good!
