Is there an easy way to find say the top 5 energy efficient SSD's so I can then look to find which is the best performing "green" SSD?

most manufacturers specifiy power consumption at idel/load. They also specifys IOPS and read write speeds, so if you want you can divide and compare that way.
If i'm honest, i think you'll be looking at differences of the order 0.3-0.5W though. Nothing major.

Is there any point to this? They're all pretty much around 0.5 - 1.3w average power consumption, there's nothing in it.

Tbh i think it has to be either the m4 or the samsung drive at current prices. 256g if you can.
