Most reliable IDE/Sata drive?

seagates come with a 5 year waranty iirc. i was recomended by the guys on this forum to goto seagate for reliability. it seems they almost never fail.

Yea seagates are good and have a really good waranty, I think WD are also good, i have been using them for years and never had a drive fail me yet.

You've got the Western Digital RE (RAID editions) or the Maxtor MaxLine III / Pro range which are directly targeted as being reliable drives.

I'm happy with my MaxLine III 300GB. If I was running a very busy 24x7 server I would probably go with the WD because they are listed as good for 'high duty' whereas the Maxtors are rated for 'low duty' (i.e., your home PC).
