most times you've re-installed windows in a day?

XP four times. Bloody Blaster worm. Finally cracked it by installing and patching before plugging the network in.

Probably half a dozen, on of the merits of 'fixing' computers for people. I now have an nlite disk for the missus, her sister and her mothers computers, complete with drivers and the programs they use. It has well earnt back the time spent on it.

On my machine, I have no idea. Complete installs, probably only a couple in a day. Counting those which got to varying stages then failed, many in a day. Bit tragic how much of my life Ive spent on the process

think my max is 3, fortunately it was a harddrive faiure so i was rly annoyed (hardrive was slow ah hell)

Tried that fix myself. I must have screwed up the process or it doesn't work in a multi-boot environment because it created a 3rd boot item called ReadyDriver. It ighlighted it on boot, booted then displayed the same screen again, the curser cycled through the boot options by its self then stopped on ReadyDriver again and locked up. Tempted to try again but I am eally not in the mood for more PC hell.

When you install ReadyDriver it asks you about your multiboot setup, and asks how many times you have to press up etc to get to the required menu, you must have stuffed that part up.

I think you're right. I did that when mostly asleep which is never a good thing. I shal have another go with it. I was extremely suprised that Windows Server 2008 R2 was able to function as a domain controler and IIS server using under 1GB of ram.

For me the max would be 3 or 4 at the same time using individual CDs.

About 100 in a day using Ghost Multicast... then they each had to be renamed and then brought onto the domain :(

We use Ghost at work and have it set up that it runs GhostWalk after dumping down the image but obviously only works on existing PC rebuilds where the name of the workstation is saved away before Ghosting starts.

Four times is the most in a given 24 hour period - back in 2004 when I had to install my drivers in a certain order or it'd break XP. In the last 3yrs I've never had to do it more than once.

You know when the figure is too many when you can do the Japanese version of Windows without needing a translator. :(
