Most useless use of a Network Cab.

Because it is a slow switch? =/

:) Could be, but i've used them for years and they've always been as fast as other 5-8 port 100mb/s switches. I think it's more of a lets give it a load of room so it doesn't over heat!!

We've got some 9u cabs with 2x24port cat 5 patch panels, 3x 24port POE switches and also has a 48 port patch panel in it, now the switches are cisco and they run warm, but never enough to trouble them.

And i've also got a cab that isn't deep enough to house a HP Procurve 2650, so it's cable tied in, works a treat, and saved a fortune in a new cab, as people who wired it first made a spaghetti junction out of it! Luckily this cab is well out the way of anyone in a server room, otherwise it would be a new cab that could be locked!
