I went to college with tears in my eyes.

Could you expand on why it made you feel so emotional?

I would honestly like to know. I mean I think it's great that Gareth is doing what he enjoys despite his huge disability but I'm a little confused by some of the responses, I imagine or can probably guarantee I am the vast minority and I applaud those who are doing what they can to help him and hope the petition and Gareth's story help make changes for the better, but I don't really understand why people are getting so emotional over it.

Just to make clear I don't in any way feel it's undeserved or wrong, I just don't understand it, it just seems a bit much and I would really like to get peoples opinions of why they feel the way they feel.

Mainly because I feel kind of bad for not feeling the same way, I tend to deal with emotions in a rather repressed way (The only time I felt any form of sadness at my Grandmothers death was when I stood by her coffin), so maybe it's just the way my mind works.

Interesting Fenris, for me the guy deserves admiration due to the obstacles he has overcome to lead a normal life, however the people that feel emotional...I guess it's partly pity? Nothing wrong with that though, it's a normal emotion, even if not entirely appreciated by its recipient.
