MOT Advisor

I had this every year with my Prelude, in my case it was because the factory skirts completely covered the sills so they couldn't see them. Pretty lucky in my case as the sills were rotten :P

There seems to be little consistency with MOT tests. Two years ago I got an advisory for "Stone chips on windscreen". I have one noticeable chip in the top left corner (outside the sweep of the wipers) and the rest are tiny <1mm marks from stones of which there are quite a few but only show up under the right light conditions.

This advisory hasn't been mentioned prior or since despite going to the same garage

Seems fairly obvious to me.

He's complaining that his car passed its MOT but was given an advisory of 'Plastic covers impede inspection'. He's annoyed about this as, IMHO quite rightly, feels the advisory is entirely pointless.

It's correct imho - the tester has advised that there was a test item that has not been inspected properly or at all due to covers impeding the inspection, thus the advisory is highlighting an item you might want to keep an eye on or inspect yourself.

Better show the offending item (identical not mine)

Jesus that's hideous - I'm suprised he didn't refuse a test full stop :D

You know, I think there is a clue in your own text as to why it hasn't been picked up again
