MoT Expired

Okay, just realised my MoT expired on March 10th. It needs a new back box and tyre as it's running on a spare atm.

If I take it to a tyre place to be sorted and get pulled by plod, will I get a £60 fine? These ANPR vans are about atm you see.

I understand I cannot use it for commuting etc but where do I stand taking it for work to be done?

if you have booked an mot your allowed to drive it on the road, you could get both done at the same time?

book it and you'll be ok.

I once forgt about MOT for 6 months, it was only when I need tax did I think "oops".. Mind you this was in the paper days with no computer check to catch me.

It'll take a week to get the MoT done as it'll be going to my mates relatives garage.

I have goodyear coupons for discount on tyres so I want to take it to a Goodyear place.

As for the backbox which is blowing, are they easy to get off. Surely a scrappy would have a VTR backbox.

I think you are allowed to drive it only on your way to an mot test station. not sure as to whether you would have to prove that the car is booked in to have its test done.

so, if you go to a garage that (if it fails) will do another test for free, you will be able to drive it to the test centre. the car will fail, garage will fix it, and do another mot test (free).

Even if your caught without an MOT they probably won't punish you. Provided you get it done immediately.

An MOT certificate is not a guarantee that a car is road legal so they don't enforce it as heavily.

If they're minor leaks then you don't need to. And if they're major just get the garage to bodge them shut lol. that's what I do.

There's no way i'm paying hundreds to get my exhaust system replaced because it leaks. My garage gets it through the MOT though.

Gun Gum for the win! Got my old Orion through an MOT with one of their patch kits no bother.
