MOT Expiry

Say for instance a cars MOT had expired and you went to get a new MOT, would you be fined by the MOT testing station? Is the only way for them to know is if you get pulled and you get asked to produce your documents?

I found out the fine is £60 and no points but at which point is this fine issued?

No reason MOT station would fine you. It's legal to do whatever with your car, except drive it on public road (unless going to/from prebooked test)

The MOT station has no authority to impose fines for anything.

If you were stopped by the police and they gave you a producer and you didn't have an MOT, then you may be up for a fixed penalty notice, but this is not an endorsable offence.
