The Stag has a chipped headlight (stone hole). The light still works but will it pass it's MOT with a chipped headlight?

I can't think it's a fail point, but then I'm not MOT trained :)

maybe, if it's an old sealed beam unit and the glass is actually the focusing element. But then would a young MOTer know this?

The girlfriend's Scenic just passed with a holed headlight and there are two cracks that run completely across the lens. As long as it doesn't affect the light pattern then it will pass ok (that's what the guy said) so I'm guessing it has to be a pretty big hole or completely smashed out to fail. We did give it a clean out the night before because there was some algy growing in there.

I say give it a go and it'll probably pass, then you are free to source a light at the right price at your leisure.

as previously mentioned the beam pattern has to be ok but also there shouldnt be any moisture in the headlight at the time of test, its not rained and has been hot for a couple of days, nows the time to seal it up.
