Motherboard and Graphics card conflict

I am getting an Unknown Device error (Location 65535 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus)). The motherboard is a Asus P5K-E and the graphics card is a Sapphire HD 3450 256MB DDR2 VGA DVI TV Out PCI-E.

Is this some kind of audio conflict? I mean the motherboard has built in sound and so does the graphics card. What do I do?

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon, anyway you can disable the onboard audio using CCC? (not to clued up on current ati cards sorry)

You could disable the motherboard onboard audio within the bios, see if the error disappears.

I would try installing the drivers again.

Hi,

It's probably the HDMI built in digital audio on the HD3450

You need to correct driver from the ATI site.

I usually just install the full catalsyt package.

Beware though, it will take over your sound so you need to go back into control panel audio and set the playback device to your onboard/soundcard

Both will co-exist peacefully....

hmmmmmmmm, don't have this issue with my 3870, though the ATI audio driver is installed i never had problems with the wrong device being picked up.
