Motherboard compatibility

Hi Guys,

Just ordered a new mobo as I think the last is knackered. Here is my spec will it be compatible ?

gigabyte geforce gtx 460 1024mb gddr5 pci express
amd phenom II quad core 955
asus M4A87TDUSB3 AMD 870
corsair dominator 4gb 2x2gb ddr3 pc3

It will not work

It is a completely different socket type (FM2)

You should have looked here for a suitable board- http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=1903&subid=2046&sortby=priceAsc

wrong mobo totally m8.

You need an AM3 mobo not a FM2 that's trinity processors

Not really sure, whats the difference? Sorry I am not clued up on the hardware.

The physical size is different.

An ATX (considered normal size) will not fit in a case that can take just mATX.

Then that is ATX so you can buy this board as it's replacement,

Ok I have a got a new case the new antec so its pretty big so dont think the actual size matters. that is my old motherboard yes. thanks for that wil look at them links now!
