Motherboard not detecting Memory.

Well damn I messed up, only quickly looked at the board and didn't see the HDMI port hiding there :p

Anyother way to reset the CMOS is to turn unplug the PC from the power, find the CMOS battery, take it out and short out two pins for a good 5 mins or so. There should be instructions on how to clear the CMOS in the manual.

OK the LCD display on the board says 53 and in the manual that code means. Memory initialization error. Invalid memory type or inconpatiable memory speed.

Huh?

Seems like it could be the RAM. Have you got a spare set of RAM to test with? If not then try reseating the CPU, and if that fails, RMA the memory.

It's beginning to sound like something is broken.

It'd be unusual to have 2 faulty sticks of RAM and CPU's are pretty bomb proof.

Unless you get any other suggestions I think it's time to remove the CPU and check the socket for damaged pins.

If the pins are OK then refit the processor and have another go.

Don't worry about the thermal paste. Just use a finger wrapped in cling film to spread it back over the CPU. It'll do for testing purposes.

Im thinking about bringing it into to town to a PC shop and seeing if they have any RAM I could test it with.
