Motherboard Sound Problem

Hi Guys

I have a Win fast 6150K8MA MATX Board and I am unable to get sound from the onboard sound ports. I have connected my green audio cable from my creative 2.1 speakers to the green port on the board and I have also set the audio properties to run off the motherboards onboard sound. I have downloaded the latest audio drivers as well for my motherboard.

I also know the speakers work correctly as I have checked them on another computer.

Thx

Check in your BIOS what kind of sound you are running as the header pin-outs are different for High Definition Audio and the older AC97 standard. Many older cases don't support HDA so you need to tell the motherboard to use AC97 instead. Some Thermaltake cases have two sets of front panel audio connectors - one for AC97 and one for HDA.

Sorry - I just re-read your post - are you running Vista? If so, then check that the speakers are the selected audio device and also check what ports Vista is sending the sound to as it's now fully digital and it can do very wierd things like disregard the colours on your motherboard outputs.
