hi all i would just like to ask if any1 had a socket 775 mobowith 2 ide sockets and 2 sata sockets if they would send me it as i am only 14 and cant afford a new one as i have just receved a gfx card but the power plug is just under the card and it wont fit in. It also needs to be able to use ddr2 240 pin ram. Thanks a lot guys

Would the mobo not boot with just the 20 pin connector? Would it be possible to part the wires and have the graphics card going through the middle or do the cables come up too much?

Also what's the model of your current board?

EDIT: Keep an eye out on adtrader or gumtree, people sometimes sell older hardware there for next to nothing and collection avoids postage charges. Since you only need p4 support i'm sure you'd be able to pick one up cheap.

the mobo is a ptgd1-la (the one with 240 pin ram) and i wil upload a pic ater and it wont just go in with 20 pins as it isnt that end (its the end with pin one not 24)

Hmmm that is quite unfortunate and a bit of a design flaw but I suppose most users with pre built computers wouldn't have a ~9" x1950gt graphics card never mind a dedicated card lol.

People may find it a it suspicious that you are a new member and are asking for free hardware so it would be a good idea to provide a link to the previous thread so people know why you need these things and so you don't need to repeat yourself here. I certainly wouldn't be willing to part with any hardware if this thread was all I had to go by but after the last thread my sympathies are with you lol. Hopefully you'll get that x1950gt to good use eventually :)

Bare in mind even if you get a new motherboard, assuming that's from a prebuilt HP/Compaq PC, then you will need a new copy of Windows as the current copy will be OEM and be tied to the current board.

Usually you can get round that by doing a phone activation.
