As with many things in life, the answer is "it depends"
There really isn't a single motherboard that is "best for gaming" since performance in gaming is almost entirely determined by the graphics card and CPU you are using. At a very basic level the motherboard just needs to be able to support the CPU you have chosen as well as the graphics card. Then you need to take into account what features you want the motherboard to have, such as good CPU overclocking, SLI/Crossfire capability, lots of SATA/USB ports and so on.
If you are looking for a new motherboard then I would assume that you are looking for a new CPU/motherboard/RAM bundle at the very least. Perhaps if you can tell us your budget and what parts you need then we can suggest what to go for to maximise performance in games.
