Motion blur ?

Motion Blur and Depth of Field effects should just hit the DEL button and dissappear forever. I absolutely hate the effects with a passion

I go to great lengths choosing a high hz, low smudge and low lag monitor. Developers that add even more motion blur that already exists with the rubbish tft tech need a reality check.

Your missing the point of why we have motion blur. The reason is to help smooth out the frame rate by blurring it together.
In computer animation (2D or 3D) it is computer simulation in time and/or on each frame that the 3D rendering/animation is being made with real video camera during its fast motion or fast motion of "cinematized" objects or to make it look more natural or smoother.

Motion blur can look good in some games, others it can give me a headache. I don't mind the setting being available in games though as long as it's simple to turn on or off.

I hate motion blur and typically turn it off. I actually thought I was the only one.
The by-product result is a decline in motion resolution which is similar to how the effective resolution of my 1080p LCD TV may drop as low as 650 lines due to motion (vs 1080 lines static).
