Can someone please give me a list of Motion-Control shoes that are out on the market so i can go try them on at my local Shoe store or even ask to get them ordered in to try them?:)

I currently run in Asics Kayanos but if there is something else on the market with more support then them id love to go try them on.

And yes i will be going and getting GAIT done with them on which is the purpose of this thread. To get a list of Motion Control shoes and Compare them all in the store.

Ive currently come across Asics Gel-Evolution but from what i can see they are only for the American Market. But will ask the Shoe store about them anyway:D

Sorry this is totally off topic, but I keep seeing people capitalising the word gait, why is this? It's not an acronym it's just a word that basically means how you move.

In addition to the Asics Gel Evolution, try:

- Mizuno Wave Alchemy 9
- Brooks Beast
- Saucony ProgRid Stabil CS

I personally have the Mizuno's - they're a great shoe and are a lot lighter than the Brooks and Saucony

I would guess, especially how he used it and how others use it

"I will be getting GAIT done", that it is an acronym, gait analysis in training, or something like that.

Because the normal word gait, would be used like this "I will be getting my gait tested" .

GAIT, is likely some random bunch of stupid words to make gait testing sound fancy at running stores.

Hmm, a little goggling, http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/GAIT , quite a few there but none relevant.

Gait analysis identification techniques, is what I guess it stands for.

EDIT:- yes, i'm tottally bored right now and can't sleep :p

Meant to say, a good shop will tell you what types of shoes are suitable in store anyway, but have a quick look on the better running shoe websites and search by shoe type to get a list of whats available is the easiest way. Likewise their own sites will let you know what the shoe is good for and so let you know which of theirs are suitable for your type of foot.

THough if you've not had gait testing done yet, you might want to wait and have that done, take their advice on shoes, and then look up other shoes as you might get advised to use different shoes than you think you might need. Making up your mind before you go might not be the best move.

I honestly don't know if by using different types of shoes you're running style can change over time, so while you may have overpronated like mad a year ago, running on control shoes for ayear might mean you run quite normally now and be better with a standard pair. Not sure if its worth getting advise/testing from a couple different stores like a second opinion.
