Motivation

i look to the future and think do i want that?

then force myself then it becomes a part of my life until i something silly happens lol

i find motivating myself very hard

Wobbs

I look more to what I have got than what I have not.

I am therefore thankful that I have the job I have and can provide for my family. This motivates me to try harder and do better so that I can maintain this.

................. and now for the more amusing responses......

Ditto

I used to be virtually unsociable until something clicked and now I can't stop going out, making my life better.

just depends on the person, how confident they are.

I try to focus on what really matters. Will that new gadget really make you happy? Will watching that crap tv show, really impact your life? Will socialising pub really make you any more successful? Because, no it won't.

This really pushes me to focus on education, work, and real life projects that effects people. I'm continually planning contingency plans, trying go around obtrusive people and generally anything that gets in my way.

Basically forces me off consumer style thinking, into productive thinking. I also save money like this, because I don't buy those one use gadgets that you use once, then forget about. I used to get those highs, when looking forward to buying something. But now I realise that I will probably buy it, and nothing will change(Social Standing wise). I used to a C grade student, now I'm usually top of the class at university. Motivation and grit is extremely important, not so much innate intelligence, if it exists like most people think it does.

Some good advice on here.

I used to have no problem with motivation, but for the past year or so I have, I'm 18 if that has anything to do with it.

I know what you mean by the highs when buying tech because I get that as well.

I always think its too early to start revising for some reason.

I haven't bought any tech for over a year, maybe that is the reason why?

When i have no real aims e.g during summer holidays etc i find it hard to do anything other than roll out of bed but once uni starts i wont have troubles at all.

I remind myself what i was like as an unmotivated teenager; doing badly in an underpaid boring job, borderline obese, single and generally unhappy. Picturing myself back then quickly kicks me into gear on a difficult Monday morning.

The hardest part is pulling yourself out of a hole and getting motivated. How i did that i honestly don't know, i just woke up one day and decided i was fed up of being a waster.

Was that a test? I didn't know what it meant, but, instead of responding with "lolque?"... I Googled it for myself .

Oh really? I thought it was a fairly common abbreviation :o I think you can read books and use others as examples and learn from experience and blah blah blah but really, for me anyway, my motivation comes from getting on and doing things.

By having something to aim for. If you don't enjoy what you do and have no aims then the motivation will be hard to come by. It's sometimes better to give up if you don't want to do it.

Look in the mirror, realise I need to get massive eat more, eat some more then go to the gym.

Realise I've lost my motivation and I've eat too much :( :p
