I'm changing car soon, from a R56 Mini Cooper, and I'm taking the speakers I had put in with it. The bad thing about the Mini's setup was that it was all running off the stock/standard headunit, which was a piece of guff to say the least.

I'm after a headunit to put in my new car to get the best out of them. It's going in a BMW 1-series so with the adapter it can't be one of those huge-dash fillers. I have noticed, however, you can get fancy flip-out ones which appear to be quite handy and tidy so I'd prefer one of those.

The main priority would be to get the best out of my speakers, with perhaps a bit of functionality (like touch screen, maybe sat-nav). After a bit of browsing on the bay, I've found a few around my budget range but I'm obviously willing to be shown some alternatives;

A Pioneer, a brand I've heard of;
PIONEER AVH-P5000DVD DVD/AV HEADUNIT WITH 7" SCREEN

A Zenec, a brand I haven't heard of;
Zenec MC192 7 Inch DVD AMFM MP3 Single DIN Head Unit

Can the wise OCUK shed some light?

Edit: Just done a quick google, and many people seem to be recommending the Alpines for the sound quality, does this sound about right?
