Motorola Moto G - new budget smartphone champion?

I'm waiting for the OTA for the Tesco one providing it isn't months away from the official UK OTA. KK won't make a huge difference I wouldn't think, I don't need much more performance out of the device right now. Camera improvements would be nice though.

I have to say, been using this a couple of days now. Getting pretty good battery life out of this compared to my gs2. Very please and can honestly see me keeping hold of this phone for a while now.

Btw dunno how many know it but to get the actual 5mp for the camera you have to change it from 16:9 to 4:3 format. As default it is set to 3.8mp for 16:9 ratio. Just incase you were wondering why pictures might not be that good.

that would make next to no difference in PQ, it's just cropping the image when in 16:9.

What is the best Android equivalent of Nokia's "Nokia Transport" app ? I use that so many times - it detects your current destination if you wish, you tell it where you want to go, and it displays the public transport options - bus, tube, train etc.

I searched the play store for battery and found at the top of the list Battery Doctor. Seems to help get rid of the media server issue and is easy enough to use. Also the kill task when you dont use stuff is a nice feature which i think is what helps the media server issue. So far my battery says 12hrs and 3m remaining with battery at 54% and its been on for 1day 36mins so far so not too bad i guess.

I've noticed chrome no longer messes up the text format now as before it used to have different size text especially on this website as before it used to be all different sizes, I'm running KitKat now so not sure if it is that or chrome has been fixed.

I can't get over the battery life.... My nexus 4 would die within a few hours of use.. I've been using this constantly

Well done Google and Motorola, if its like this now, think of what it would be like in the coming future.

Best £99 I've ever spent.
