Just got this phone and need a nano sized payg sim. I tried my old payg sim but its standard size. What is the best payg sim and is it possible to retain old number?

Assuming you get decent coverage then I'd suggest 3 PAYG as they're reasonably cheap compared to many others. Generally you get a 3 SIM then simply use their online form to request the number transfer. However you need the PAC from your current SIM provider to proceed with the transfer.

As soon as you boot the phone with the 'wrong' sim in it it'll normally ask you for an unlock code which you then use the one you've purchased

How do you know your phone is locked?

It was bought from the o2 store and locked to their tarrifs.

How do u change the picture which is seen before the phone is unlocked? First wallpaper has stuck there after taking the micro sd card it was stored on out and battery. Under display>wallpaper it only changes the wallpaper displayed after unlocking the phone

for that i think there will be a file available on root something along the lines of backgroundwallpaper. i think that is the file that stores the bg wallpaper when the phone is locked. im not sure on its mechanics though as this file appeared when i set the lock screen wallpaper on android 4.4

I've got android 7 and can't find the setting next to wallpaper or any root files. Edit: used this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jiubang.goscreenlock
It didn't work then went here:

Not sure what happened but it gave me an option for lock screen eventually.
