Mott MacDonald, anyone with experience?

Thinking about it more this seems like something I would like to get into, or at least an idea to persue and research further.
Can anyone offer further advise or things to do?
Fire off emails to other Local Engineering firms asking for a chat or work experience would be one step. As for job vacancies any specialist websites out there. It would need to be similar roles as above. Very bottom of the ladder trainee technician.
If I have a choice of type of engineering I would prefer buildings and bridges, and the sort that also designs for aesthetics and not just for the principle of making something work.
So some-one that pushes the boundaries between a designer and an engineer. Sort of Foster and Partners or Richard Rogers, they're architectural firms but typically get involved with the design of large (what I would consider) engineering projects.

If you want to work on interesting projects just just look at AutoCAD, MottMac and other big design consultancies in the engineering world also use SolidWorks, particuarly in the water industry side :)

Atkins, Halcrow, WYG, Ramboll, Grontmijj etc are all big players in the civil engineering world.

Anybody know anything about this?

Apprentice/Engineer of the Future Scheme 2012

Main concern would be what your paid. Really the only one out of that lot would be CAD. Would need serious thinking for the Master's Course! I also don't have the HNC or NC in Mechanical Engineering but I do have a diploma in Digital Media. Obvious thing would be to phone HR or attend their open evening.

O/T but just heard MJN Colston have gone bust.

Very sad for all those who have just lost their jobs :(

FMC were a past client of ours, they have fairly regular recruitment events at their Dunfermline base. They are in a pretty big recruitment drive generally and have been for the past year.

This is their Recruitment coordinator http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=48906738&goback=.nmp_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1_*1&trk=NUS_DIG_PIC-updtr

"Tammy Stirling CertRP FMC are hosting a recruitment open evening for future Apprentices and Engineers of the Future at FMC Technologies, Pitreavie Business Park, Dunfermline on Wednesday 14th of March, between 5pm and 7pm. This is a perfect opportunity to come along, ask any questions you may have and find out more about FMC. For more information on both schemes please visit the 'career pathways' section of our website - www.fmcjobs.co.uk "

Oh and both those apprentice roles come with training for the HNC course, both roles are first year full time study.
